Two Rivers takes over Escape to the Chateau

Two Rivers Media and Chateau TV have taken over production of one of Channel 4’s most popular series, Escape to the Chateau.

The first series to be made by the production duo - the seventh in the Escape to the Chateau run - is currently being broadcast on Channel 4.  Two Rivers Media and Chateau TV recently made six hour-long episodes of Channel 4’s iconic show, including five classic episodes and a single episode of Escape to the Chateau at Christmas, with the single featuring in the broadcaster’s Christmas schedule.

Two Rivers’ and Chateau TV’s first programming collaboration was Escape to the Chateau: Make Do And Mend (4 x 60 mins).  In this prime-time series for Channel 4, filmed by the Strawbridge family on location at the Chateau in France, Dick and Angel helped solve the nation’s make-do and mend dilemmas.  Broadcast in July and August this year, the series was Channel 4’s most successful brand new series launch in its 8pm slot, following in the footsteps of Escape to the Chateau which has become Channel 4’s highest-rating 8pm origination.  Escape to the Chateau was formerly made by Spark Media’s Kindling Media.

Managing Director at Two Rivers Media, Alan Clements said: “We are delighted to be working co-producing with Dick and Angel on series seven and we hope there are many more series to come.”
